Sporthaven Beach is just one block from the motel and offers easy access to sand, surf, and open shoreline. Popular for surfing, beach walks, and watching the waves, it’s a favorite spot for starting the day or winding down in the evening.

Harris Beach

Harris Beach is known for its wide sandy shoreline, offshore sea stacks, and protected swimming cove. A day-use parking fee is required. It’s a popular spot for beach walks, picnics, and watching seals and seabirds along the rocks.

BEST FOR SUNSET AND TIDEPOOLS

Lone Ranch

Lone Ranch Beach features a mix of rocky shoreline and open sand, framed by grassy bluffs and striking sea stacks. Tide pools appear at low tide, while larger waves and exposed shoreline give it a dramatic feel. It’s one of the more accessible beaches in the corridor and a favorite for long walks and quiet exploring.

Whaleshead

Whaleshead Beach is known for rugged scenery, striking sea stacks, and powerful surf. A high-clearance 4WD vehicle is recommended to reach the parking area, as access on foot is limited. The dramatic setting makes it a favorite stop for coastal views and photography.

MODERATE HIKE AT LOW TIDE

Secret Beach

Secret Beach, in the Samuel H. Boardman Scenic Corridor north of Brookings, is a hidden coastal gem reached by a short but steep hike down through forest to rocky headlands and sandy coves. Best visited around low tide for exploring sea stacks, small waterfalls, and tide pools.
